"I wasn't sure what rod would cover my needs between this one and and the new APP 7'3" Feel N Reel so I bought both. The FNR casted light baits better than expected, but after using this one for small crankbaits, I'm happy I have both. My goal was to have the perfect setup for small baits like the Manns -1. I tested the FNR vs. this one with the same small reel with 20-pound line. This rod is perfect, but I'm going to super tune a reel to get the performance I like when using small crankbaits. A good finesse reel will make this rod one of my favorites."

"This review is for the HE701ML, Helium 7'0" Medium Lite Casting Rod. Rated to load down to 1/16oz. and it does. I have it paired with a Shimano Aldebaren BFS XG. First let me say, I bought this combo to try out because I hate spinning gear. Well....bye bye spinning gear. I throw balsa wood top waters, 1/16oz. NED and a variety of other finesse baits. The rod loads very well and accommodates the reel. Did you say sensitivity? The first rig I tied on was a 1/16oz.NED with a Z-Man NED Craw on 8lb braid. Bait went out, sank, hit the bottom and a shock went up my arm. I couldn't wait to get it back to do it again. Yep, that's what I thought it was. The shock was the 1/16oz. bait hitting the bottom. YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!! Freaked me out, made me smile."

"I ordered this rod with the intentions of using it for a Jerkbait and or a light square bill rod ! Very impressed how the rod works for both types of lures !! The rod also works great for a 1/4 oz jig head with a light finesse like a 4"grub also ! This rod is balanced perfectly for these lures and the soft tip is fantastic for the sensitivity on this rod.
