If I do not see exactly what I want as an option, can I make a special request to change or add a component, color thread, type of graphite, etc and will it change my total price?
Yes, absolutely, we want to make your rod as unique as possible. There will be an up charge but we will contact you prior to proceeding with your build for approval and clarification.
Why are custom rods more expensive than the stock models?
It takes twice as long to build a custom rod so the labor is twice as costly. Our craftsmen and women are experts and take pride in slowing down to build your rod beautifully and carefully. You get more than what you pay for in a custom Kistler Rod.
Will you guarantee to meet the specific build time I select so that I have my rod before my event?
We will most likely ship your rod before the date you expect your rod, however in some cases, if we are out of certain components or blanks, your rod build will be delayed. We will let you know if there is a delay so you can make plans.
Why is the warranty only one year for my custom rod and stock rods get multi-year proration warranties?
Trey has selected the very best graphite blanks after inspecting for flaws or minor imperfections, so that you have confidence in the quality and long term durability of your custom rod. With that being said, you pay a little more for the build and components of the custom rod, not for an extended warranty. Stock rods are built in bulk and can be prorated at cost, unlike one-of-a-kind custom rods.
How long will it take to build my personalized fishing rod and how will I know when it ships?
Your selected Build Time of either Standard 15-30 working weekdays or Priority 10-15 working weekdays will determine your ship date. You will receive an email notification the day we ship your rod.
What if I do not like the feel or look of my custom rod...Can I return it for refund?
This is a one of a kind creation that is designed by you and built for you, therefore, there is no refund or exchange available on custom rods. Trey guarantees you will love the look and the feel will be more amazing than any of your stock rods.
Can I order a custom kistler fly rod?
At this time, we are working on developing a full line of fly rods for certain fish species and hope to launch them in 2021. Until then, we are happy to take your order over the phone and build you exactly what you need. Cost will vary from $350-750We ship all our rods and reels direct from our factory straight to your door. Cutting out the middleman saves you.
Can I get an update on how far along my rod is or when it will ship?
Due to the volume of custom rod orders and the many stages of your custom rod build, we’re unable to give exact updates on progress or ship dates. Please refer to the Build Time you selected and calculate the work days from order date.
