Trey Talks KLX

Excellence

"I order two rods last spring (03/20) a KLX693LMH and a KLX734MH. First off, I live in Minnesota. The rods arrived professionally packaged in a stout cardboard tube. These are my first rods without a fore grip. I was hesitant at first to try these. But, after five months of using them. The lack of a fore grip was not a problem.
The 734mh became my favorite rod this season. I used it to launch Rapala DT10 and Dt14 crankbaits. I have a Lews ss15a reel mounted on it. This rod was such a joy to cast. I could send a balsa crankbait into a good wind almost straight out. I mean without much effort, cast after cast. Just a great rod. Hooks ups were effortless.
The 693 was used mostly with a jigworm. The sensitivity and power made it a go to rod. These are my third and fourth Kistler Rods. They will not be my last."

KLX Fishing Rod Up Close

How To Choose The Right Rod

A Real Upgrade

"Wanted to upgrade two of my son's rods, from a Fenwick HMX casting and a Dobyn's fury spinning rod. We chose two KLX rods in 7'3" in LMH. It is wonderful to be able to support a US company, especially when they provide a quality product. The service is fast and very friendly, the fit and finish on the rods was impeccable. The rods are light, and have a comfortable grip. With a 30 size spinning reel weighting around 10 oz the balance was easy on the wrist and no fatigue after an hour. The spinning rod can cast a 3/8 lure over 40 yards with little effort, the sensitivity was excellent, you can feel your spinning bait vibration, any subtle changes, and with jigs every rock it bumped into. Great tip and a solid backbone. Exceeded our expectations, a real upgrade."

KLX 2 Power

"Last week my new KLX 7.3ft 2 power arrives. I have more Kistler rods in different models Zbone’s, Helium’s and KLX’s in difference power, mostly 3 and 4 power builded on the NFC blanks. This is my first 2 power rod build on kc8 blank. I brough this for finesse techniques.
Rod is very clean build, with nice cork. Personally I like smaller running guides. The KLX are very light, sensitive also have enough backbone."

KLX 2 6'9"M

"Ok this particular model I like a lot more than a helium 7'3 MH that I bought together with this one. It's sensitive, balanced and feels strong and tough. The handle is very comfortable if you place part of you hand on the reel go with klx not helium. I was wondering if I did the right choice since what a medium rod is lure rate for Kistler is a medium light on other brands but this end feeling like in the middle of ML and M of what I'm used to with St. croix it cast great weight less plastic but also doesn't feel like your killing the rod when you add some weight. This rod definitely will replace my others medium rods ."

Unbelievable quality and feel!!

"Just got in my new 7’0 heavy KLX and as always I’m blown away by this rod. I normally buy heavy rods a little longer and was a little concerned that it wouldn’t be stout enough. Well I was wrong!! As usual this rod exceeded my expectations. I have quite a few Kistler rods but this is my first KLX...however it will not be my last!! This rod is very stout but still has that crazy Kistler rod sensitivity. Highly recommended!!"
